Tim, my apologies if you've fixed this in libwww v2 already, but...
It seems that the reason Mosaic will present some of you with lists of
article headers of news groups just fine, but then refuse to read any
articles ("430 No article by message-id
<1993Feb3.134631.2976@ncsa.uiuc.edu>, sorry."), is that some nntp
servers out there are just plain broken.
How, you ask? RFC 977 directs news servers to return articles
identified by article ID when sent a command of form:
ARTICLE <1993Feb3.134631.2976@ncsa.uiuc.edu>
....and also when sent a command of form:
ARTICLE 335
....where 335 is the article number. Right?
Well, some servers only allow the latter method. This seems strange.
Does anyone know what I'm missing here?
Thanks,
Marc
